I remember it like it was yesterday. I was visiting my sister and her husband. He just landed a job as a chef at the Seelbach in Louisville KY. We sat down for dinner my sis and I and after ordering my swordfish steak sis comes out with, I am going to have you try a Sauvignon Blanc(it was New World and I think from New Zealand, but don’t remember the producer) Tom had graduated from the CIA in Hyde Park and Sue by default was into wine as well. She decided it was time to share, like many who discover what wine is and moreso what it is with food. My wine knowledge extent at that point was Red table wine and Chianti with Italian food. A shrimp appetizer, came to the table and after my first sip…..the angels starting singing in my head.

….Fast forward 30 years later and here I am…Certified Sommelier, a good stash of wines collected, never ending interest in wine worldwide, most importantly…I want to share my passion for wine and to make people happy and to get that switch flipped for as many people as possible, like it was for me.

Into The Cellar…..this is my chance to share with everyone my love for the people I have met in the world of wine. Some in the business, some just enthusiasts. This project should appeal to anyone interested in wine. From the wine geek or professional to the novice or beginner. It is easy to be humble in this world of wine as even the masters are always learning. I look to learn as well through this project but also look to expand a community and people to share experiences and feedback and things they have learned as well.
